New Leadership at RCF

We are pleased to announce that Elizabeth “Liz” Fields is the new Executive Director of Rotary’s Camp Florida.  Liz comes to the agency with extensive non-profit experience having led such wonderful organizations as Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough and Suncoast Harvest Food Bank.  She has a very strong background in facilities management and her passion has always been ensuring that people with disabilities have the same opportunities in life.  This passion is what makes her a perfect fit for the Camp; and we look forward to the increase in the Camp’s utilization by more community partners that provide services for children and adults with disabilities.

Liz was born in Cornwall, England and has 3 sisters.  She received her degree in Accounting from Falmouth Technical College in Cornwall; and worked for a brief time as an accountant for a local government office.  She moved to London to work for Credit Suisse First Boston; and rose through the ranks from a teller to become a stockbroker.  While at the bank, her love for community volunteerism began and she implemented the “A Pound Is Profound” program at the bank.  Employees gave one pound (currency) of their income per $1,000 they earned and the income from this program allowed her bank to build 2 of the largest accessible homeless shelters in London.

She moved to the US after visiting several times on vacation and falling in love with the state; in fact she states “it felt like I had come home”.  She enjoys volunteering and recently assisted with the formation of a non-profit; P.A.H. Outreach; that increases awareness of a rare disease; Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension.

She has served on community boards for the Life Enrichment Center; Self Reliance, Inc; People With Aids Coalition; the Council for Exceptional Children and the National Humane Society.

Liz also has a love for animals and has 3 rescues puppies and 3 birds; all with special needs.

She believes that everybody has different abilities and that those abilities should not preclude them from any opportunity in life.  She promotes independence, the freedom to choose the life you desire and the enjoyment of the time on this earth.
